The Friends of the Quechee/Wilder Libraries host Vermont poets Ben Pease and Bianca Stone for an hour of poetry in community on May 21, 2026.
BEN PEASE
Ben Pease is a poet and multi-disciplinary writer who is dedicated to fostering a more accessible literary community in Vermont and beyond. He is the author of the full-length poetry collection Chateau Wichman: A Blockbuster in Verse, a Dungeons & Dragons adventure module set on the Ruth Stone Property called The Light of Mount Horrid, the hybrid illustrated edition Furniture in Space, and several chapbooks. His poems have recently appeared or are forthcoming in American Poetry Review, Poetry Northwest, jubilat, Biscuit Hill and 7x7 among others. Ben is the Executive Director of the Ruth Stone House. His most recent publication Veedon Fleese was released in 2025.
BIANCA STONE
BIANCA STONE is a Vermont-based poet and scholar currently serving as Vermont’s poet laureate. Stone is the author of many books, including the poetry collections What is Otherwise Infinite which received the 2022 Vermont Book Award, and The Near and Distant World, (Tin House in January, 2026). Her poetry and writings have appeared widely in such magazines as The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Poets & Writers, and The Nation. She is co-founder and Creative Director of the poetry-based nonprofit, Ruth Stone House, where she organizes events and retreats, teaches classes on poetry and poetic study and hosts the Ode & Psyche Podcast.
