White River Junction, VT – December 11th, 2025 — Upper Valley Habitat for Humanity is
proud to announce a major milestone in its latest affordable housing project: the successful
delivery of a two-box modular “shell” to Nutt Lane in White River Junction, VT. The arrival of the
structure marks an exciting step forward for the Haley family, who will soon achieve affordable
homeownership through Habitat’s partnership model.
On delivery day, community members, volunteers, and supporters lined Latham Works Lane to
watch as a crane lifted and placed the home’s two modular sections onto the prepared
foundation and erected the roof system, complete with shingles—a process that required
meticulous coordination across Habitat’s construction team and modular builder Preferred
Building Systems of Claremont, NH.
“This milestone is especially meaningful because we now have an enclosed structure to work in
through the winter,” said Ashley Andreas, Executive Director of Upper Valley Habitat for
Humanity. “I’m so grateful for all the planning that went into this project, allowing me to hit the
ground running as the new Executive Director.” She acknowledged her predecessor, Jack
Kauders, and Operations Manager, Joe Denny, for their vision and execution of this build.
“We’re still looking for volunteers to register and help us make this building a home for our
partner family, the Haleys. I welcome connections with anyone who wants to get involved with
Habitat—whether it’s volunteering to help build this house, doing some office or administrative
work, or donating a piece of property or a condemned structure for our next project. I look
forward to building more connections in the Upper Valley and doing our part to provide
sustainable homeownership in the region.”
The modular home delivery is part of Habitat’s broader strategy to create high-quality,
energy-efficient housing that can be built more quickly and cost-effectively. The Haley family has
already contributed “sweat equity” hours, a key program requirement that ensures long-term
partnership and investment.
Construction will continue throughout the winter, with volunteers and Habitat’s build team
completing interior and exterior finish work. A home dedication ceremony will be held upon the
project’s completion in summer of 2026.
