Description "The History of Hartford's Advent Christian Campground" was presented by Joe Trottier to the Hartford Historical Society on November 12, 2025. Trottier has been the camp's caretaker for the past 31 years. He told about the camp's historic beginnings, his hopes for its future, and added a few stories from his time growing up in Hartford. The camp is located between the Mount Olivet Cemetery and the train tracks running along the Connecticut River. The camp was founded in 1887 when its land was acquired from Orren Taft. In 2017 the camp was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
