Norwich commemorated Memorial Day with a parade and ceremony organized by American Legion Post #8. The parade made a stop at the Fairview Cemetery where a wreath was laid on the grave of Alden Partridge, founder of Norwich University, then proceeded to the Veterans Memorials at Tracy Hall, where special guests Patti and Scott Holmes of White River laid a wreath. Their son, Jeffery, was killed in Iraq while serving with the Marines in Fallujah in 2004. Following the service, people went to the green to listen to the Upper Valley Community Band.
