As rain poured down, a thunder of voices lifted skyward as several hundred people gathered in Hanover to take part in Hands Off!, a nationwide day of protest against Trump administration policies that include cuts to social programs like Social Security and healthcare, firing federal workers, tariffs against allies, an assault on the rights of immigrants, LGBTQ+ people and other communities. The Hanover rally was one of over 1400 protests that happened across the country, with an estimated 3 million people taking part. A statement on the national Hands Off! website stated "Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. They're taking everything they can get their hands on, and daring the world to stop them.
