Norwich Bookstore Author Talk: Don Herzberg "The Things She Said" 03/19/25
Show Details
In this wry collection of poems of his mother, The Things She Said, Herzberg revisits a memorable childhood-- the trouble, the liveliness, and above all, the language of his mother commenting, often fiercely on their lives. These poems are funny, affectionate, and moving.
Don Herzberg was born in Los Angeles, grew up in Houston, and has lived with his family in Vermont for the past 45 years, practicing medicine as a radiologist, first at Dartmouth Hitchcock and then at smaller hospitals in the Upper Valley. In 2004, he received an MFA in poetry writing from New England College. He has self-published two books with his wife Vickie Herzberg, coupling his poetry with her prints and paintings, and also self-published a collection of his poetry, Dancing on Earth. Last year, his chapbook The Things She Said was selected for publication by Red Bird Chap Books.
