Show Details

A blank sheet of paper. The sudden flash of a pen. Shining like a fast sword, with the grace of a ballet dancer. And within seconds, a beautiful word is born. Litterae, an exhibit of calligraphy and abstract art by Laura Di Piazza is now on display at the Ledyard Gallery in the Howe Library. The works feature many quotes suggested by the library's patrons. Di Piazza discovered a love for calligraphy while in high school, and now as a freelance calligrapher has taught classes at Society of Scribes in NYC, Center for Cartoon Studies, Dartmouth College, AVA, Artistree, and other organizations. She is also the Development and Communications Director at Junction Arts & Media in White River Junction. She holds a MFA degree in Interdisciplinary Arts with a concentration on critical race theory from Goddard College. https:lauradipiazza.com The show runs through October 31 2024.
