Farm to Film's Feature Presentation, "Common Ground" is preluded by a musical performance and Abenaki language presentation by Jesse Bowman Bruchac and an introduction by Lt. Governor David Zuckerman ABOUT JESSE BOWMAN BRUCHAC: Jesse Bowman Bruchac is a citizen of the Nulhegan Coosuk Band of the Abenaki Nation and director of Middlebury College language School of Abenaki. Jesse learned the language directly from the last generation of first language speakers. He has taught the language for over thirty years. A prolific songwriter, Jesse has released six albums and over 60 songs. Use of his original music has been a primary driver of thriving community based language reclamation. ABOUT Lt. GOVERNOR ZUCKERMAN: Lt. Governor David Zuckerman is a father, husband, farmer, former legislator, and the 83rd Lt. Governor of Vermont. During his 14 years in the House of Representatives, David served for six years on the Agriculture Committee with four years as committee chair, six years on the Natural Resources and Energy Committee, and two years on the Ways and Means Committee. In 2012, David was elected as a State Senator for Chittenden County, where he served for four years. David served on the education committee and was the Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, where he brought his experience as both a legislator and a farmer to discussions about the future of Vermont Agriculture.
